Microsoft Surface 5G Cellular Network Issue
Problem Description
Some users have reported that after installing WireSock on their Microsoft Surface Tablet device with the mobile hotspot enabled, the 5G Cellular Adapter stops functioning. Although it appears active in the system, it is unable to find a network. Uninstalling WireSock and rebooting restore the adapter's functionality.
Solution
To resolve this issue, disable the Energy Saving mode for the 5G Cellular Adapter on your Surface device.
To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
- Open Device Manager:
- Press
Win + X
and select Device Manager.
- Press
- Locate the 5G Cellular Adapter:
- Expand the Network Adapters section.
- Find your 5G Cellular Adapter in the list.
- Modify Power Management Settings:
- Right-click on the adapter and select Properties.
- Navigate to the Power Management tab.
- Uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
- Click OK to save the changes.
- Restart the System:
- Reboot your device and check if the 5G adapter is functioning correctly.
